About Trang's Seafood Market
Located at 4143 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92105, Trang's Seafood Market operates as a seafood market serving San Diego in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in San Diego with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 amβ5 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (619) 283-9970. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
With 4.2 out of 5 on Google from 344 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for seafood markets in San Diego. Recent reviews are the best guide.
San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Solid place for quality π¦ shrimp and other seafood. They have large quantities and also very good, wild Mexican shrimp, which is what I go here for. 16.99 lb.

First off the customer service is complete trash, zero stars. Very rude, no greeting you when you walk in, no one says excuse anymore? The space is super small so if Iβm in your way please say excuse me instead of trying to squeeze your way past me after not speaking to me from the beginning like I did something wrong to you. Roach hanging out right in front of the store waiting to get in. The ladies pictured below were just rude as ever. The only one who had any customer service to offer was the nice young man handling the seafood behind the counter, thank you to him and him only. There are much better seafood markets to shop at, I recommend to shop where you feel welcomed.

If I could give negative stars I would!!! I purchased 2 frozen lobster tails clocking in at $101.00 and some change thinking WOW this are big and wonderfulβ¦horrible move on my partβ¦as soon as I thawed ONE (making my dinner after a long hike) I noticed an odd sent but chalked it up to my great sense of smell. NO I was wrong I steamed this potential beauty to perfection and smelled the insane smell of ammonia ( if you know lobster that a sign it went bad before freezing). I knew I couldnβt eat it and they are amazingly closed now so tomorrow I am being the steamed and shelled on along with the still frozen one to see if they will acknowledge their mistakeβ¦ not okay to sell frozen sea food for insane prices that is bad.

This place is a gem!! Firstly when you're buying fresh seafood the establishment needs to be CLEAN, and have a large variety of seafood. Trangs Seafood Market definitely nailed both of these. Very friendly and respectful clerks plus they always have amazing deals.
